Parking in Sunny Beach: where to leave the car
Where to park in Sunny Beach, what is paid and what is not, and why the car park in front of the hotel matters if you have driven here.
If you are driving to Sunny Beach, parking is the first thing you will think about and the last thing anybody writes about. So, briefly: in August a free space in the central area is not easily found, almost everywhere is paid, and the difference between a hotel with parking and a hotel without is the difference between a relaxed evening and driving round in circles.
What the options are
Hotel parking. The most convenient and usually the cheapest solution. Most of the larger hotels have their own car park — paid, but at a rate below the municipal and on-street zones in the centre. What matters is whether it is fenced and whether there is a barrier.
Municipal and private car parks. There are plenty along the length of the resort, mostly paid, with rates varying by season and location. In July and August they fill up early.
On-street parking. Possible, but in the central area it is difficult and risky in terms of tickets. Many of the apparently free spaces are in front of businesses or entrances.
Free parking in the strict sense — a large, open, free car park in the centre of the resort — effectively does not exist during the season. If somebody promises you one, it is most likely a space on the edge of the resort, ten minutes’ walk away.
The rule that saves you the aggravation
Ask about parking before you book, not at check-in. Three specific questions:
- Does the hotel have its own car park, and is it included in the rate.
- Is it fenced, and is there a barrier or access control.
- Is the space guaranteed, or is it “subject to availability”.
The third question is the important one in mid-August. “There is parking” and “there is a space for you” are not the same thing.
Here at Caesar Palace
The car park at Caesar Palace is directly in front of reception, behind a barrier — and it is visible from the terrace or window of almost every room. If you have spent two days driving across half of Europe, that is the small detail that lets you fall asleep: your car is twenty metres away and you can see it.
Throughout May 2027, parking is free for all of our guests. The reason is that Eurovision is being held in Burgas that month and we expect a lot of people to arrive by car — but it applies to everybody, whether or not they are here for the contest.
For the rest of the season, parking is available for a small fee.
If you are driving out for the day
Most of the interesting places nearby are easiest to reach by car, and parking at each of them is a subject in its own right:

The general rule along the whole coast: set off in the morning. The difference between nine o’clock and eleven is the difference between parking and not parking.
In short
- Free parking in the centre of Sunny Beach, in season, effectively does not exist.
- Hotel parking is almost always the better value.
- Ask whether the space is guaranteed, not just whether “there is parking”.
- A fenced car park with a barrier matters more than a small difference in price.
- In May 2027 parking with us is free; for the rest of the season, it is available for a small fee.
